Creative Dance- Nature
Our creative dance class was themed around nature and the world around us. The students had a nature journal that they would write in each week. They would find one aspect or element of nature and write about what they saw, and how it felt. Over the course of the quarter students analyzed these aspects of nature and found dance elements that could represent what they were seeing in nature. Students then turned those movement elements into choreography, and danced their nature journals.

landscape dances
Students examined landscapes from some of the most beautiful places in the world. As a class we used abstract thinking to observe the visual elements of the picture and decide on movements that would best represent them. Students then got in groups and chose a picture to analyze in their group. They then organized their movements into a choreographed dance.
