This semester, the "Modern Dance: Dance and Nature" elective studied different aspects of nature. They used art and literature (through the book "Tree") to understand different ways to appreciate trees. They had the opportunity to collaborate with high school dancers when they took a field trip to Enloe and worked with students in the advanced dance class. The dancers worked together in groups to form connected shapes that represented tree branches against the sky. The shape dances were then recorded and edited into a video. The introductory video further shows the creative process. Through this workshop both groups of dancers were able to form relationships and learn through teamwork.
